Content Management System (CMS) used: WordPress

YesMilano's Restaurant Week platform was designed and built following the WCAG 2.1 guidelines provided by the WAI international standard of the W3C, in line with the accessibility requirements WCAG 2.1 - level AA.

The principles that guided the creation of the portal were defined both on the basis of what is indicated by the WAI W3C guidelines, among the main ones:

  • Only the technologies specified by the W3C guidelines have been used
  • For each audio visual content a content has been provided which, once presented to the user, essentially performs the same function or achieves the same purpose as the original content.
  • We did not rely solely on colors, so text and graphics are understandable even when viewed without color.
  • Markers and style sheets have been used appropriately
  • The layout has been designed and guarantees independence from the various devices (connected to responsive mode)
  • Clear and consistent navigation mechanisms have been designed and provided in order to increase the likelihood that a person will find what they are looking for on the portal
  • Tables with the right markers have been inserted so that browsers and various user agents can transform them according to need.
  • All the pages of the site have passed the HTML5 validation carried out with the W3C Validator.

As regards the semantics, a manual check was carried out on all the main pages and all the various templates used.

The site has also been designed following the W3C standards about CSS3 and HTML5 mobile-first, making it scalable and accessible from any device, at any resolution and in any mode. The texts have been optimized for screen readers.
